The “Orangerie du
Château” was built at the end of the 15th century, at
the time of Louis 12th and Anne de Bretagne.
It was accessed from the castle, through the gardens, some of
which still exist today: the jardin du Roi or Square Victor
Hugo.
There is a gallery going
from the orangery to Anne de Bretagne’s pavilion.
It was built
by the queen, and includes a small chapel where she used to
come and say prayers for an heir to the throne to be born.
From
the orangery gallery, she could enjoy a view of the gardens’
surprising architectures…
Wonderful gardens and traditional buildings! The “Orangerie
du Château” is full of warm smiles, delicate attentions
and the cheerfulness of Karine Molveaux.
A garden of scents and of flavours, L’Orangerie has become a
table for enjoying a passion for cuisine.
That is Jean-Marc Molveaux’ passion for a cuisine of different
flavours, passion for his region and its authenticity. His secret?
A certain quality of precision he learnt when working in prestigious
restaurants and…
The talent of creating without ever betraying the nature of
things!
