In a closed 3 hectare park, a little away from the village of Chaumont sur Aire, you will find a former authentic water mill dating back to the 18th century and transformed since into a gourmet restaurant, hidden away among flowers and hundred year old trees. Welcome to the Auberge du Moulin Haut!
This charming mill successfully passed through
difficult times in French history and was bought in 1982 by
Claudine and Paul Imbach.
After three years of intensive work,
the mill seemed reborn without having lost its original functions.
The water continues to run through it and the establishment
quickly becomes a gourmet Inn, charming, welcoming and warm.
Since January 2001 the heirs, Rinia and Marc Imbach are in charge
of the place, they keep this successful place going. The domain
is now a must stop in the region just like in the guide books.
The interior reflects the country roots of the restaurant, and
you will no doubt be charmed by the atmosphere-created by wood,
visible beams, and old style fireplace-in which you will enjoy
your meal.
And a gourmet also being a lover of the arts, you
will be able to enjoy your gourmet meal at the sound of the
magnificent and centrally placed piano.
Marc’s choices in the kitchen are also influenced by his country
roots, no doubt about that.
The recipes have a strong scent
of tradition to them but our talented young Chef certainly knows
how to reinterpret and reinvent with his constant inspiration.
The result is surprising: the compositions give an impression
of déjà-vu, but they are light and refined and
moreover, they are surprising even to the most expert palates…
This is truly a historical place and the Auberge du Moulin Haut
is also a place where the cuisine of tomorrow is being invented…
So do not hesitate to stop here in this establishment full of
personality, for the cuisine and for the settings, they are
both exceptional.
And for the discovery to be complete, let
yourself be tempted by the delicious ideal gourmet menu!
